THE ULTIMATE CYCLING CHALLENGE APPROACHES!

Okay, so it's not 'til the end of February, still...it IS approaching and it's time to start thinking about it! Registration is open and they are going to limit it to the forst 50 teams this year. I'm going to sign us up and then we can figure out the details later.

For anyone that missed it in years past - here's the scoop: This is a 24 hour indoor cycling event to benefit the Lance armstrong Foundation. It takes place @ Ultimate Fitness here in H-land and it runs from 8:00pm Friday to (strangely enough) 8:00pm Saturday on Feb 20-21. We used it last year as a way to get folks interested in our Team and to have a good time. Shucks - it was we met Scott and Linda for the 1st time! I think we could probably get 2 or more teams togther if we wanted to! It's a minimum donation of $30 a head and you get a t-shirt and a lot of support.

I'll take care of registering us as a team, we won't have to get them a roster until February. We can do 1 or 2 hours stints on the trainer and I'll set up a sign up sheet when folks start getting back to me to claim a time slot.

Go to www.ultimatecyclingchallenge.com for more details, or contact me!

I hope to see EVERYONE @ the party next week! Can't wait!

MC...I'm down with whatever. Put me on whatever shifts you need for VCC and JDRF. I'll pull the overnighter...apparently I don't need to sleep anymore anyway.

did's in, too - all about the wee hours, too.

J2 will take the overnight shift too.

N2 will take whatever shift needed! Is this BYOBike and trainer?

Good question Nic! Each team has one trainer set-up for the entire event and we just switch out bikes as required. I'll supply the trainer and such so you'll just need your bike.

(And one or more of your oh-so-fine JDRF jerseys 'natch!)

CPR is in. Do we sign ourselves up or is someone taking responsibility for signing up a team?

Scott and I will be in again...I can't believe it was a year ago when we first met Mike, and Peggy and Carmen and I am sure others who rode before or after us! What a blast. We will fill in where needed when you get the shift-list set-up.
I HATE THE TRAINER!! Can't we just ride around in circles? :)

I'll take a shift. Preferably when Heather's band will be playing, but we can work out those details later...

Linda Linda Linda.......we don't HATE the trainer! We LOVE the trainer! The trainer is our friend! The trainer is our partner, our buddy, our fellow soldier in ther battle we all wage against sloth and out-of-shape-ed-ness.

Okay - I hate the trainer too..but 'tis a neccessay evil!

okay okay...perhaps HATE is too strong a word. I still would rather ride around in circles! :)
Last year Scott and I (having never experienced a trainer before) signed up for the 4 hour tour. And I have to say that with all of the excitement and music, and yummy munchies being offered, the time flew by! Now I just need to figure out how to get that kind of attention at home...hmmm

I'll get right on my invention for the trainer that lets you move at about 1 foot per minute. We could have really, really slow pacelines around the room.
